About this Class

If you need to sharpen your knife skills and become more confident at the cutting board, then this class is for you—an introduction to fundamental knife safety and skills. Designed to make prep and cooking time faster, easier and stress-free, this class will give you the confidence you need to keep your cool (and your fingers) along the way!

In this 2 1/2 hour, foundations hands-on class, our Health & Wellness Chefs will teach you:

  • tips on selecting and safely using your knives
  • which three knives every home cook needs
  • the 4 basic cuts of slice, dice, mince and julienne
  • tips on selecting a cutting board and how to properly clean and maintain it
  • how to create a meal from the ground up using your newly learned slicing and dicing skills

Guests will enjoy our organic Cheesy Spice™ popcorn or Nourished Party Mix™ upon arrival. You’ll also receive a serving of each dish prepared. Available for purchase by the glass, we feature a variety of artisan wines from around the world which are biodynamic, sustainable or organically farmed.

Seasonal Menu:​

  • Farmer’s Market fall vegetable minestrone with fresh spinach-basil pesto (VG)
  • Autumn harvest chopped salad with maple-cider vinaigrette and toasted pecans (GF, DF, VG, V)

NOTE: This is a foundations course; we recommend that you begin here if your knife skills need improvement. To optimize your learning experience, this class is limited to 10 people. Because you’ll be standing and actively working throughout the class, we recommend you wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes.
